WalkLists for iOS — App Privacy
This page is the public, plain-English version of the “App Privacy” labels shown on the WalkLists listing in the Apple App Store. It mirrors exactly what we declare to Apple, and it is governed by our full Privacy Policy.
The short version: WalkLists is a business tool. We collect what we need to run the field-operations platform you signed up for — and nothing for advertising. We do not use your data to track you across other companies’ apps and websites, and we do not work with data brokers.
Data Used to Track You
None. WalkLists contains no advertising SDKs and no third-party analytics trackers, and we do not share your data with anyone for cross-app or cross-site advertising. In Apple’s terms, no data is “used to track you.”
Data Linked to You
Because WalkLists is an account-based product, the data below is linked to your identity. Every item is used for App Functionality (and, where noted, security or analytics we run ourselves) — never for tracking.
| Data type | Examples | Why we collect it |
|---|---|---|
| Contact Info | Name, email, phone number | Account creation and sign-in (including Google / Apple sign-in) |
| Contacts | The voter / customer lists you upload (names, addresses, phones, emails) | App functionality — your own data, processed on your behalf |
| Location | Precise GPS at a knock | Show your position, optimize the walking route, and stamp where each knock happened — only while you are actively canvassing |
| User Content | Field photos, notes, survey / script responses, dispositions, signatures | App functionality — recording what happens at the door |
| Identifiers | User ID | App functionality and account management |
| Purchases | Purchase / subscription history | Billing (card data is handled by Stripe and never stored by us) |
| Usage Data | Basic in-app events | Operate, secure, and improve the app |
| Diagnostics | Crash and performance data, IP address, device type | Keep the app reliable and secure |
Data Not Collected
We do not collect health or fitness data, financial account or card numbers (Stripe tokenizes payments — card data never reaches our servers), browsing or search history, your device address book / Contacts list, or advertising identifiers.
A note on the lists you upload
For the contact and voter lists you import, you (your campaign or organization) are the data controller and WalkLists is your processor. We handle that data only to provide the Services and under your instructions, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Permissions the app asks for
- Location: to show your position, optimize your route, and record where each knock happened. We do not track your location when you are not canvassing.
- Camera & Photos: to capture or attach field photos; photo location metadata (EXIF) is stripped before upload.
- Microphone / Speech: to dictate notes hands-free between doors.
- Notifications: for assignment changes, sync alerts, and team messages.
Your controls
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time — in the app (Settings → Delete account) or on the web at our account deletion page. For the full picture of how we protect data, see our Security & Trust page; for the Android equivalent of this disclosure, see Google Play Data Safety.
