What posts to Telegram
- • New contact — name, email, phone and city, the moment it’s added.
- • Door result — the disposition a rep logs (e.g. “Hot lead”), with their note.
1 Create a bot with @BotFather
- In Telegram, open a chat with @BotFather and send
/newbot. - Give it a name and username. BotFather replies with a bot token that looks like
123456789:AA…— copy it.
2 Add the bot to your chat & get the chat id
- Add your new bot to the group or channel where you want alerts (as a member; for a channel, add it as an admin).
- Get the chat id: the easiest way is to add @getidsbot (or @RawDataBot) to the same chat — it replies with the chat id. Group ids look like
-1001234567890; a public channel can use@yourchannel.
3 Paste both into WalkLists
- Open Account → Automations.
- On the Telegram card, paste the bot token and chat id and click Connect.
- WalkLists sends a confirmation message to the chat immediately — if it arrives, you’re done.
If something goes wrong
“Couldn’t send a message with that token + chat id”
Make sure the bot is a member of the chat (channels: an admin), and that the chat id is right — for groups it’s usually negative and starts with -100. Re-run @getidsbot in the chat to confirm.
Nothing is posting after setup
Alerts fire on contacts and door results created after you connect. Use Send test on the Telegram card to confirm the connection.
Turn it off
Click Disconnect on Account → Automations any time.
